Overgrown beds need preparation first.
If dense weeds, accumulated debris, neglected edges, or other correction needs are beyond a normal refresh, we assess the reset work before installing mulch.
- Review of the starting condition.
- A defined cleanup and correction scope.
- Separate identification of removal or new-edge work.
- Mulch installation included only when expressly quoted.
Property-specific estimate.
Your estimate separates reset work from mulch installation so you know what is included in the total.
Get My Reset & Mulch EstimateA focused cleanup may be enough when only one service is needed. Property Reset coordinates multiple services to bring the existing landscape into maintainable condition; mulch and shrub work are included only when expressly quoted. Maintenance afterward is optional, separately approved, and subject to readiness and capacity.
Explore Property ResetMore than spreading mulch.
Your mulch-refresh estimate identifies:
- The beds included and measured material quantity.
- The selected mulch material.
- Normal weed and debris preparation.
- Refreshing maintainable existing bed edges.
- Installation depth that accounts for existing mulch.
- Cleanup of the quoted work areas.
Heavy overgrowth, new bed edges, old mulch removal, major bed correction, shrub trimming, and plant installation or removal require separate scope when needed.
A better finish starts with the beds.
Fresh mulch should not hide work the beds need first. We review weeds, loose debris, existing edges, and current mulch condition before defining the preparation.
Routine preparation fits within a standard refresh. Substantial overgrowth or correction needs may require a separately quoted Property Reset before installation.
Needed shrub work can be coordinated before mulching when appropriate for the plants. It is separately quoted. A single-service cleanup may be enough; Property Reset is the coordinated option when multiple services are needed.
Explore Property ResetMore mulch is not always better.
Existing mulch counts toward the finished depth. We assess what is already in the beds before deciding how much new material to add.
The appropriate depth depends on the material and site conditions. Mulch is kept clear of tree trunks, shrub stems, and plant crowns.
A refresh may need a lighter addition than a first installation. Repeatedly adding a full layer without checking existing depth can create excessive buildup.

How much does mulch refresh cost?
Residential mulch-refresh projects start at $300. Your price depends on bed measurements, material, existing condition, access, preparation, and installation scope. Commercial properties and beds needing substantial reset work receive property-specific estimates.
What preparation is included?
Normal weed and debris preparation and refreshing a maintainable existing bed edge are included in the standard refresh scope. Heavy overgrowth, new edges, old mulch removal, and major correction work are separately scoped when needed.
Do you remove all the old mulch?
Not automatically. We assess the existing material, condition, and depth. Removal is separately quoted when the agreed result or site conditions require it.
How much new mulch will you add?
We measure the beds and assess existing mulch before determining the quantity. Your estimate confirms the material and intended finished depth. We do not automatically add the same amount to every bed or every year.
Does fresh mulch prevent weeds?
Mulch and preparation can help reduce weed pressure, but they do not eliminate weeds. Seeds, persistent roots, and surrounding areas can produce new growth. Ongoing bed maintenance is a separate service.
Is edging included?
Refreshing a maintainable existing bed edge is included with normal preparation. Creating a new edge or correcting neglected boundaries requires separate scope.
Do my beds need new mulch every year?
Not necessarily. We review the existing depth, condition, and appearance before recommending a refresh. Some beds need a lighter addition or grooming rather than a full new layer.
Can you trim shrubs or clean up overgrown beds before mulching?
We can review those needs as part of your request. Shrub care and substantial bed resets are separately quoted and coordinated in an appropriate order. They are not automatically included in a mulch refresh.
Can I choose the mulch material or color?
We discuss the currently available options when preparing your estimate and confirm the selected material before ordering. Availability and material choice can affect price and timing.
