Drainage Solutions in the New River Valley & Roanoke Valley
Understand the water problem before choosing the work.
Standing water, downspout runoff, or an existing drain that is not working? Start with a review of the conditions and practical options for your property. We define suitable installation or repair work after assessing the problem.
Onsite assessments are $295 for up to one hour, after an initial service-fit review.
Request a Drainage AssessmentThe full assessment fee is credited once toward a qualifying installation or repair accepted within 30 days after the onsite assessment is completed, under the assessment terms.
Submitting a request does not authorize charges or schedule a visit.

First understand the problem. Then choose the work.
Step 1: Drainage Assessment & Options
Start with the conditions—not a guessed solution.
Not sure why water is collecting or where it should go? Request an onsite review of the drainage concern and practical options for your property.
- Initial request review to confirm service fit.
- Review of affected areas and accessible drainage features.
- Discussion of suitable routing, repair, or installation options.
- Clear next steps and identification of further investigation where needed.

A defined proposal for the work your property needs.
Once the assessment identifies an appropriate approach, review the scope, price, and terms before approving construction.
- Buried downspout routing.
- Suitable small drainage installations.
- Repairs to appropriate existing systems.
- Substantial reconstruction within the approved service scope.
Repairs start at $650. New installations and substantial reconstruction start at $1,500.
Repairs include one year of workmanship coverage on the repaired portion. New installations and substantial reconstruction include two years. Written terms apply.

General company feedback
What working with ECL is like.
“We have recently started using East Coast Lawns. They get the job done efficiently and communication is good.”
Understand the water before choosing the work.
Depending on access and the agreed assessment scope, we review:
- Where the water appears to originate.
- What happens during and after rainfall.
- Existing downspouts, inlets, lines, and visible outlets.
- The affected areas and surrounding conditions.
- Potential routing and discharge options.
- Access, installation constraints, and suitable next steps.
Photos or videos during rainfall can help show conditions that may not be visible on a dry assessment day.
Some concerns require another qualified specialist or further investigation before ECL can quote work. An assessment does not guarantee an ECL construction proposal. Take photos only from a safe position; do not enter flowing water, open structures, excavate, or expose utilities. Specialized testing, engineering, excavation, repairs, and a formal inspection report are not automatically included.
Different water problems need different approaches.
Downspout runoff
Roof runoff may need an appropriate collection and routing plan. A buried line still needs a suitable discharge location.
An existing system that is not working
Damage, obstructions, outlet conditions, or other issues may affect performance. We assess what can reasonably be repaired or retained.
Standing water or a wet area
Surface shape, soil conditions, groundwater, and runoff can contribute. Installing a drain is not automatically the right answer for every wet spot.
A defined improvement—not an all-storm guarantee.
Your proposal identifies the concern being addressed and the work included. Performance depends on the agreed design, site conditions, outlet conditions, and rainfall. Drainage work does not guarantee that every part of a property stays dry in every storm.
Discharge arrangements and applicable requirements are reviewed for your property. Work is not automatically authorized to discharge onto neighboring property, into public systems, or across sidewalks.
Review first. Approve each next step.

Complete the service-fit review
We review whether the concern appears suitable for ECL’s drainage service and explain the assessment terms.
Approve the onsite assessment
Where appropriate, authorize the $295 assessment for up to one hour. We review the conditions and discuss practical next steps.
Review and approve the project
If suitable work is identified, your proposal defines the installation or repair scope, price, applicable assessment credit, workmanship coverage, and scheduling requirements.
Before scheduling construction, we confirm required approval, payment setup, access, readiness, appropriate discharge arrangements, applicable requirements, and capacity. The initial inquiry does not authorize assessment charges; assessment approval does not authorize construction. The 30-day acceptance window begins when the onsite assessment is completed. It concerns the credit window, not a requirement to complete construction within 30 days.

Based in Christiansburg, we review suitable drainage projects in Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Radford, Salem, Roanoke, and Cave Spring. Surrounding communities are considered based on location and project scope.
Good questions. Clear answers.
Do I need to know whether I need a repair or a new installation?
No. Tell us what you are seeing. We review the request for fit, then assess the conditions and discuss suitable options before proposing work.
Is the drainage assessment free?
No. Where appropriate after the initial fit review, an onsite assessment is $295 for up to one hour. The assessment scope and terms are explained before approval.
How does the assessment credit work?
The full $295 assessment fee is credited once toward a qualifying installation or repair accepted within 30 days after the onsite assessment is completed, under the assessment terms. It is one credit toward one qualifying project—not separate credits for both services.
What is included in the assessment?
We review the affected areas, reported rainfall conditions, accessible drainage features, potential routing or discharge options, and suitable next steps within the agreed scope. Specialized testing, excavation, engineering, repairs, or a formal inspection report are not automatically included.
How much does installation or repair cost?
Repairs start at $650. New installations and substantial reconstruction start at $1,500. Your proposal confirms the price based on the assessed conditions, access, materials, and agreed work.
What drainage projects do you handle?
We focus on buried downspout routing, appropriate existing-system repairs, and suitable small drainage installations. We review the property and scope before confirming whether the work fits our service.
Can you assess a system you did not install?
Yes, we can review suitable existing systems. Repair options depend on condition, access, available information, and what can reasonably be retained. Any proposed repair identifies the portion being addressed.
Will the work keep my property dry in every storm?
No. The proposal defines the drainage concern and work being addressed. Rainfall, soil, groundwater, outlet conditions, and other site factors affect results. We do not guarantee a dry property in every storm.
What workmanship coverage is included?
Repairs include one year of workmanship coverage on the repaired portion. New installations and substantial reconstruction include two years. Your written proposal defines the terms; a partial repair does not warranty the entire existing system.
Will installation disturb my lawn or beds?
It may. Your proposal identifies the work areas, access requirements, expected disturbance, and surface restoration and cleanup included. Sod, seeding, planting, or other restoration is included only when expressly quoted.
Tell us where the water is causing trouble.
Share the conditions you are seeing. We’ll review the request and explain whether an onsite assessment is the appropriate next step.
